David Moyes takes Garner risk in two changes – Everton predicted XI v Leicester

David Moyes maybe ready to take the risk of starting James Garner in his Everton XI to face Leicester City on Saturday.

With Orel Managa out for the foreseeable future and Dominic Calvert-Lewin an injury doubt to face the Foxes, there could be two enforced changes for the gaffer from last weekend’s 1-0 win at Brighton when the Foxes visit Goodison Park (1 February).

That could mean a first start for Garner, who return from injury off the bench against Brighton, since 5 October, while Beto could also into the fold against Ruud van Nistelrooy’s men.

David Moyes forced to make Everton changes

After picking up a clean sheet against Brighton last Saturday (25 January), Jordan Pickford will be eager to make it nine for the season against the Foxes on home turf.

The goalkeeper’s defensive protection could stay the same with Jake O’Brien, James Tarkowski, Jarrad Branthwaite and Vitaliy Mykolenko some of the few Toffees players who will feel they can be proud of the performances they have put in for the majority of the campaign.

Mangala was forced off in his side’s win against Brighton and the verdict for the 26-year-old is not positive with Nieuwsblad (29 January) reporting that he could be out for at least six months.

With this in mind, we could see Garner come into the side even though he himself has only recently returned to action.

Alongisde Garner, Moyes could opt to stick with Idrissa Gueye with Jesper Lindstrom, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Iliman Ndiaye in front of them.

Despite it looking like a return to goal-scoring form could be on the cards for Calvert-Lewin under the management of Moyes, the striker was also forced off against Brighton.

This could leave the boss with little choice but to bring Beto into the starting line-up in the hope that he could gain some momentum from his side’s improved form and bag his second Premier League goal of the season.
