‘Everton double signing on the cards’ before deadline after Moyes update
Everton could sign “one or two” players before the transfer window slams shut on 3 February, Alan Myers has predicted.
David Moyes has yet to add to the squad in the winter window, even despite huge injury blows to Orel Mangala, Dwight McNeil, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Armando Broja, and PSR could be to blame.
Speaking in his press conference [31 January], Moyes admitted the Toffees have been “hampered” by PSR restrictions but attempts were being made to bring players in before the deadline.
Responding to a question via X about signings being made [31 January], Myers wrote: I would think we will – maybe one or two – but it’s not proving easy at the moment.
“There is a reality about it and they will be doing whatever they can within the parameters they have to deal with.”
Everton still to do business before 3 February deadline?
With the numerous injuries mentioned above, Moyes will be desperate to add some new faces to the current squad before the transfer window slams shut, and a double signing potentially being on the cards would be a massive boost.
The Toffees have been plagued with setbacks this season, with James Garner and Tim Iroegbunam’s long-term absences leaving Gana Gueye and Mangala to battle away in midfield.
However, that partnership is over following the latter’s crushing injury blow, with the Belgian set to return to Lyon until the end of the season, leaving plenty of holes in the squad.
Another new striker is also a must, with Calvert-Lewin and Broja leaving only Beto as a fit forward, and he has only netted once in the Premier League this term.

It is an extremely difficult transfer window for the Merseyside club, even after The Friedkin Group’s long-anticipated takeover, leaving Kevin Thelwell with the tricky task of sealing a few signings before it’s too late.
The Premier League strugglers, who are sitting in 16th in the table, are running out of time to solve multiple issues within the starting XI.
In other Everton news, the Toffees are considering a late bid for an “amazing” new striker as a PSR twist emerges.
