Everton sign off on Alcaraz signing, loan-to-buy conditions revealed

Everton have agreed a deal to sign Charly Alcaraz on loan from Flamengo, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist reported via X on Friday (31 January) that the Toffees have already signed off on the deal which includes a buy clause.

Alcaraz will now return to the Premier League after his previous stint with Southampton.

The Toffees’ buy clause for the midfielder could become mandatory if certain conditions are met.

Everton agree deal with Flamengo to sign Charly Alcaraz

It feels as though this is a pretty obvious replacement for Orel Mangala after David Moyes revealed the midfielder would be flying back to France after suffering a serious injury.

Therefore, it is quite impressive that the Toffees have managed to get this deal agreed so quickly.

After dodging one transfer bullet, it looks as though Everton quickly moved on to their next target and were able to get a deal agreed upon swiftly. However, whether or not Alcaraz is a success remains to be seen.

His previous experience in the Premier League will no doubt prove useful, and that will serve as a bonus for Moyes as he looks to get the 22-year-old settled in quickly on Merseyside.

Supporters will likely just be relieved that some cover has been signed. However, with a big-name player expected to join the club after a £30million-plus boost, fans at Goodison Park will hope the transfer business isn’t finished yet.

Therefore, supporters will be keeping their fingers crossed over the coming days.

In other Everton news, the Toffees could bid £25million to sign a Nottingham Forest player.
