Everton transfer round-up: Move to be made for Patson Daka, Moyes announces exit

Everton are pressing to complete transfers with just days remaining of the winter window to allow David Moyes to have an impact on his new squad.

Injury issues have taken their toll on the Toffees since the Scot returned as head coach which means January posed the perfect chance to bring in some reinforcements.

There hasn’t been any activity at Goodison so far this month but that could soon be set to change in the limited time remaining before the 3 February deadline.

Everton could make a move to sign Patson Daka before the 3 February deadline as Moyes continues his search for a new striker [iNews].

The Zambian international is out of favour at the King Power and could represent an alternative to Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Armando Broja who now ruled out with injury issues.

David Moyes confirms major Orel Mangala exit after injury blow

The Belgium international looks set to call his loan deal at Goodison Park short after suffering an injury during the win against Brighton.

Moyes revealed on Friday (31 January) that Mangala is set to fly back to France before undergoing an operation.

Speaking in his press conference, as relayed by Ben Dinnery via X (31 January), the Scot said: “Mangala will go back.

“I think we’re waiting for the surgeon to clear it. I think he will be operated on in France, as far as we know.”

Everton consider late move for Evan Ferguson

The Toffees are considering a late winter swoop to sign Ferguson from Brighton despite a loan deal being off the table unless Broja departs [TEAMtalk].

Moyes is said to value the Republic of Ireland international at £25million but if a deal is done at Goodison, care will have to be taken due to the current PSR situation.

Everton approach on the cards for Sean Longstaff

The L4 club could be set to make an approach to Newcastle over a deal for Sean Longstaff before the 3 February deadline [Daily Mail].

This could see a late deal for the midfielder become possible despite the limited time remaining in the window.

The Toffees have a “longstanding interest” in the 27-year-old and there is an “outside chance” that he could leave St James’ Park this winter [The Athletic].
