Rayan Cherki ‘to clear medical’ amid Everton transfer development

Lyon attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki should have no issues clearing his medical amid links to Everton, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the Toffees will not be able to rely on the 21-year-old to play full games right away as he’ll need some time to adapt.

TEAMtalk reported on 24 January that while the Merseyside outfit are keen on the Frenchman, the likely destination for him is the Bundesliga.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Cherki: “Everton need to understand where he is physically and mentally right now.

They need to understand where he needs to be for the Premier League and then bring him along gradually with a methodical plan.

The medical should be passed without issues but it may take him some time to play 90 minutes regularly.

Everton have to replace Orel Mangala post his injury

There is a chance that Orel Mangala may not return again this season and that’s why the Toffes need to sign a new midfielder.

If they indeed are confident in signing Cherki, then by all means, they must accelerate talks as soon as possible.

It remains to be seen if David Moyes does indeed fancy the 21-year-old to play that role as he prefers playing in an advanced position.

In other Everton news, an update has emerged on a £15m-rated midfielder moving to Goodison Park in this transfer window.
