Ashley Williams baffled by ‘Unbelievable’ Everton v Leicester footage he saw

Ashley Williams was baffled by Leicester City’s poor defending as Everton took a 10-second lead in their 4-0 rout at Goodison Park on Saturday.

The Blues went 10 points clear of the relegation zone with a comfortable victory in the clash, which saw Beto score twice (1 Febuary).

Abdoulaye Doucoure gave the Toffees the lead in the first minute with a well-taken goal from a pass straight kick upfield from Jordan Pickford.

Speaking on BBC Final Score (1 February, 15:01 pm), Williams could not believe how bad the Toffees’ defending was. saying: “What a great start that is, kick-off, pass it back to Jordan Pickford he just punts one forward, the Leicester defence just parts that’s unbelievable, Vestergaard is so far wide I don’t know why.

“Doucoure comes through, takes it well in his stride and just scores.”

Great start for Everton against Leicester

The Malian’s early strike was a great start for the Goodison Park club and put them on their way to a third league win in a row.

David Moyes has drastically improved the Blues’ form since he replaced Sean Dyche in the dugout and the Toffees took a two-goal lead just five minutes later.

The Toffees extended their lead with two further goals and take a ten-point buffer on the drop zone then they will be full of confidence heading into the FA Cup clash with Bournemouth (8 February) and the Merseyside Derby on Wednesday (12 February).

A result in the latter contest could help to derail arch-rivals Liverpool’s title bid and leave the Goodison faithful very satisfied with the club’s start under the Scotsman so far.

A 4-0 drubbing of a fellow relegation rival is a brilliant result for Moyes’ side and they need to build momentum in the following matches.

In other Everton news, one pundit has called on the club to make two or three signings before the 3 February deadline.
