Everton 4-0 Leicester City: Warnock lashes out after ‘incredible’ moment
Stephen Warnock slammed Leicester City’s defending as Everton secured a 4-0 win on Saturday.
The Toffees continued their excellent form since the return of David Moyes thanks to goals from Abdoulaye Doucoure, Beto and Iliman Ndiaye on 1 February.
Regardless of how positive the home side were, it was the lapse in defensive concentration that was picked out by Warnock live on BBC Final Score (1 February 3:09pm).
He said: “That’s why they’re going to go down Leicester. You’ve got two international defenders and they can’t even track a run or see where the run is coming from.
“I mean [Jannik] Vestergaard, where he’s going? The ball is bent in behind from their centre-half position. It’s incredible.”

As good as the Toffees were, the Foxes certainly made it easier for them with a poor showing across all areas on Merseyside.
There was little attacking threat to speak of despite featuring the likes of Jamie Vardy, Jordan Ayew and even Patson Daka from the bench.
Even if the forwards weren’t on song, it was the defenders who let their side down, with Wout Faes and Vestergaard coming under fire in particular.
As a central-defensive pairing, the Leicester duo are lacking pace which was ultimately taken advantage of as Moyes’ men scored four.

That isn’t to say that the Evertonians weren’t on top form as they thoroughly deserved the three points and the result that they secured.
With clashes against Bournemouth and Liverpool coming up, attacking will be more difficult than it was against Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side, but this should give them a confidence boost regardless.
