Everton transfer deadline priority revealed in ‘desperate’ update
Everton desperately need a new striker on transfer deadline day, according to the Daily Mail.
Lewis Steele revealed on the newspapers’ website (3 February) that David Moyes’ priority at Goodison Park will be signing a new number nine in the coming hours.
Beto is the only fit natural centre-forward at the Toffees, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti injured.
Everton set for last-gasp transfer for number nine?
Since taking over from Sean Dyche at the Merseyside outfit, Moyes has done a brilliant job, winning three consecutive Premier League games recently.
Under the former Burnley head coach, the Blues lacked ideas in the final third, leading to one of the worst goalscoring records in the English top flight this season.
The Scotsman has changed things around and has managed to bring the best out of the players who were struggling under the previous head coach.
After a considerable gap, Calvert-Lewin had found the back of the net as Moyes returned to the helm, but the Englishman suffered an unfortunate knock.
Everton fans also expected Broja to play a significant role in the second half of the season, but the Albanian striker’s fitness issues have been frustrating.

Beto was seen as the odd man out at Goodison Park a few weeks back, but the Guinea-Bissau ace has become an essential player for the Toffees.
The 27-year-old has not hit the heights expected of him since signing from Udinese in 2023, and he may well leave the Merseyside outfit next summer.
For now, the Blues have only one number nine available, and they should add more depth to their ranks.
In other Everton news, Beto is wanted in a last-gasp transfer before the deadline.
