Everton transfer exclusive: Talks ongoing over last-gasp Goodison Park deals
Everton are in discussions over potential further signings for David Moyes on Deadline Day, Goodison News understands.
Carlos Alcaraz completed his medical at Goodison Park on Sunday evening (2 February) and will be unveiled as David Moyes’ first signing on Monday (3 February).
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano (2 February) expects the Blues to be busy in the final 24 hours of the winter transfer window after the signing, and now Goodison News can confirm this to be the case.
Although nothing is imminent as things stand, negotiations are underway behind the scenes to strengthen the squad before the 11pm deadline.
Everton will try and sign players on Deadline Day
Although Moyes, after the 4-0 win against Leicester City on Saturday (1 February), reached the same number of wins at Everton as predecessor Sean Dyche in four Premier League outings, there is still work to be done.
The Blues have put some daylight between themselves and the relegation zone, but further recruits in key areas across the pitch could ensure a comfortable Premier League finish and even a top-half push.
With Dominic Calvert-Lewin set for an extended period on the sidelines, a new forward is a high priority, with Juventus forward Timothy Weah the latest name to appear on the shortlist [The Guardian].

Whether or not the USA international is among those currently in talks for a move to Merseyside remains to be seen – sources within the club remained tight-lipped to Goodison News regarding who will be targeted on Deadline Day.
Rightfully so, with only hours left until the transfer window slams shut, the last thing Everton need is for a side to launch a hijack for one of their targets.
