Carlos Alcaraz passes Everton medical with contract signing now set
Carlos Alcaraz has passed his medical without any hiccups ahead of officially signing for Everton, according to Bruno Lemos.
The Brazilian journalist, who has been on top of updates regarding Alcaraz, reported via his personal X account on 2 February that the 22-year-old will sign a contract with the Toffees on Monday, 3 February.
Therefore, the former Southampton ace will officially become a part of David Moyes’ squad on transfer deadline day.
David Moyes boosted by Carlos Alcaraz arrival at Everton
Alcaraz is set to put pen to paper on a loan contract until the end of the season, although Everton are obligated to make the move permanent once certain objectives are met.
The Argentinian’s arrival is likely to signal the end of Abdoulaye Doucoure’s stint at Goodison Park.
Doucoure is in the final five months of his contract with the Merseyside-based club and is increasingly likely to depart at the end of the season.
Alcaraz’s arrival will only raise further doubts about the international’s future at Everton.
It would not be a surprise if the 32-year-old is already considering his options as his five-year spell with the Toffees nears an end.

Alcaraz usually plays in a rather advanced midfield role similar to what Doucoure does for the Blues.
Therefore, the former Southampton midfielder could soon take over from the veteran in David Moyes’ midfield setup.
However, for the time being, Doucoure is likely to continue as a starter in Moyes’ line-ups, particularly after producing a goalscoring performance in the 4-0 win against Leicester on Saturday, 1 February.
