Everton ‘to greenlight Beto summer exit’ after club record transfer development

Everton could show Beto the door this summer as a cult hero is linked with a return to Goodison.

The Guinea-Bissau international caught the eye last time out, netting a brace in a 4-0 win against Leicester City on 1 February.

This was arguably the best moment in a Toffees shirt for the man signed from Udinese for £30million back in 2023 [BBC Sport].

Regardless of this, the 27-year-old could still be forced out in the summer as the Evertonians look to fund a move to bring Richarlison back to L4.

It is no secret that the forward was linked heavily with a departure throughout the summer and the winter transfer window despite not moving on.

Atalanta were the latest side to show an interest in the forward’s signature [Alessandro Giovanni Pagliarni], but due to injury concerns, he became the Toffees’ only senior striker option.

David Moyes and Co. could look to cash in on these links and move him on in the summer window before moving to bring Richarlison in from Tottenham.

It has been reported that the Friedkins would have to break the L4 club’s transfer record to bring the Brazil international to Merseyside ahead of next season [Graeme Bailey].

Returning to the Toffees could be an attractive prospect for the 27-year-old who could be splashed out on before the move to the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.

It is fair to say if the Brazilian comes in, Beto is going to have his minutes limited if he isn’t moved on before a signing is made.

With the Friedkins taking set to charge of their first summer window, it will be interesting to see if they make more of a splash than they did in the winter.
