Everton news round-up: Moyes makes transfer U-turn, Friedkin sign Liverpool ally
David Moyes and Dan Friedkin have made two decisions that could affect the short-term and long-term future of Everton.
The Toffees made Carlos Alcaraz their only signing of the winter transfer window, with several others linked with a move to Goodison Park, albeit without those moves actually coming to fruition.
Things are looking positive on the pitch, meanwhile, Moyes leading the Merseyside-based club to three consecutive wins in the Premier League.
As various developments continue to unfold at Everton, Goodison Park has rounded up the top stories from Friday, 7 February.
Ashley Young to leave Everton
Ashley Young is likely to leave Everton when his contract runs out at the end of the season, according to Graeme Bailey.
Speaking to Everton News, the journalist suggested that the Blues may not offer the veteran, as well as Seamus Coleman and Michael Keane, new deals.
Idrissa Gueye, though, could stay on Merseyside, whereas efforts may be made to keep Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Abdoulaye Doucoure beyond this season.
The Friedkin Group hire Liverpool ally
Everton owners have convinced Dave Beeston to join them in a sports-only chief executive position, as per The Telegraph.
Matt Law reported via the newspaper website on 7 February that Beeston will work on the Friedkin Group’s sports projects in the United States from Boston after leaving Chelsea co-owners Clearlake Capital two weeks ago.
This ‘major coup’ comes just five months after Behdad Eghbali convinced Beeston to join him from Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group, who he worked with for over a decade.
David Moyes makes transfer U-turn
Joe Thomas of the Liverpool ECHO has tipped Moyes to tap into the Friedkin Group’s resources after signing only Alcaraz in the winter.

PSR constraints have been cited as the reason for the Toffees’ limited activity in the window, but that might change when the new financial year begins on July 1.
However, the Scottish veteran will not use any of those resources on Tom Fellows despite eyeing a late move for the West Brom ace in the recently concluded transfer window.
Everton will not revisit their interest in Fellows despite Moyes having an admiration for the 21-year-old, according to Mark Douglas of The i.
