‘Moshiri devastation continues at Everton’ as prosecution bombshell emerges

Farhad Moshiri was an extremely controversial figure at Everton and his tenure continues to impact the Premier League team.

The British-Iranian businessman was finally replaced by The Friedkin Group in December, with the passionate fanbase rejoicing as the keys were exchanged at Goodison Park.

Having already endeared themselves to the fans with the hire of David Moyes, in place of Sean Dyche, there is now a new-found hope for the Toffees as the new owners strive for success.

Despite the positivity following the new takeover, Moshiri’s long-lasting reign over the Merseyside giants continues to hold issues over their heads, which is evident now more than ever.

TFG have a brand-new problem to fix at Goodison Park, with the former owner’s devastation attempting to wreck the Blues’ next era, and it has really thrown a spanner in the works.

Everton thrown into chaos by shirt sponsor Stake

The Toffees are set to be warned over the promotion of gambling website Stake.com due to their UK gambling license no longer being valid from next month.

This, of course, puts TFG in an incredibly difficult position, given that the website has been the Merseyside club’s main shirt sponsor since 2022 after agreeing a deal reportedly worth £10million per year [The Guardian].

With the plans already in place, the Toffees are at risk of promoting an unlawful gambling website, and if no changes are made, prosecution is a possible eventuality at Goodison Park.

Supporters were incredibly relieved to see Moshiri finally leave out the exit doors, with many hoping for both doors to swing and hit him on the way out, figuratively speaking.

The club’s shirt sponsor is just yet another problem that the new owners are being forced to address, which has been left by the former controlling figure.

Last season, the Toffees were docked a total of eight points by the Premier League, mainly thanks to the poor finances on show, and it could have gotten them relegated in another season.

Thankfully, Dyche remained cool, calm and collected at the helm, eventually leading the team 14 points clear of the dropzone, but the club’s story could have been incredibly different.

It will take years to flush Moshiri’s wrongdoings out of the club. The new problem concerning Stake.com is another example of that. It’s very frustrating as TFG attempt to begin a new era.
