Mangala and Ndiaye send messages to Lindstrom after Everton win v Crystal Palace

Everton ace Jesper Lindstrom has failed to register a goal contribution for the club so far since joining last summer.

The Danish international has featured 21 times in the Premier League since joining the Blues on loan from Napoli.

However, since David Moyes returned to Goodison Park, his performances have been encouraging and the 24-year-old had arguably his best display yet for the Toffees in the 2-1 win at Selhurst Park on 15 February.

Lindstrom impresses in Everton win v Crystal Palace

With Iliman Ndiaye and Dwight McNeil out injured, Moyes was forced to start Lindstrom and Jack Harrison on the wings against Oliver Glasner’s side.

The Dane constantly caused problems for the Eagles’ defence and could have notched two assists on another day.

He took to Instagram to thank supporters after the victory (15 February) and Ndiaye commented, saying: “The day you score I will be the happiest.”

Orel Mangala, who has been ruled out for the reason of the season replied to the Senegal international’s message, saying: “Real talk.”

Everton concerns will scupper Lindstrom permanent deal

The former Eintracht Frankfurt man has endured two tough seasons since making his breakthrough when he notched nine goals and four assists in the 2022/23 campaign.

His £30 million move to Napoli resulted in no goal contributions in 29 appearances last season and he has the same return so far for the Toffees.

However, that is not for the lack of trying, he constantly tries to make things happen in attack and his work rate cannot be questioned as he ranks in the 92nd percentile amongst his positional peers for tackles won per 90 minutes in the Premier League, showing that he is willing to get back and help defensively too.

The Blues have the option to make his loan deal permanent in the summer for £16.6 million, if he can start adding goals to his game that will be a no-brainer if the Goodison Park outfit can afford it.

Former Liverpool star and fellow Dane Jan Molby believes that Lindstrom will return to Italy though, claiming that the fee will prove too much for Everton.

He has already made an impression on his teammates regardless of his struggles in the final third but ultimately those concerns may put David Moyes and the Friedkin Group off committing to the deal.

The Blues need a proven goal scorer to start climbing the table next season, right now, the 16-cap international is not that.
