Robbie Fowler reacts to new Everton announcement

Robbie Fowler has taken to social media to praise Alan Myers following a recent Everton announcement made ahead of their clash with Manchester United.

Everton host Manchester United for the final time at Goodison Park this weekend with the occasion now stretching far beyond just a game of football.

Several changes have already been implemented on Merseyside, many of which have steered Everton away from relegation heading into the final 13 games of the season.

The Friedkin Group have already built a positive relationship with Everton supporters and the latest announcement made by the Toffees will do nothing but better that connection.

Everton to induct four new ‘Giants’ at Goodison Park

Everton have announced that four new “Giants” will be inducted at Goodison Park during the halftime interval of their clash with Manchester United.

As mentioned in the post via Everton’s club site: “Andy Gray, Derek Mountfield, Kevin Sheedy and Paul Bracewell were all inspirational members of the most successful Everton team in history,” with the quartet set to be inducted and Fowler has since lauded the decision.

Writing via his personal X account in reply to Myers (20 February), Fowler said: “Great gesture that, Al.”

Fowler’s comments will be echoed by the Goodison support who will love to see some familiar faces this weekend, many of which have played a huge role in the history of the club.

Not only were they loved by supporters, but they also contributed massively to the most successful Everton side in recent history, with their induction certainly warranted.

Everton set for a momentous clash against Manchester United

While it will be fantastic to see some familiar faces at the game, the occasion also presents a huge opportunity for Everton to all but secure their Premier League status against a struggling Man United side.

The Toffees enter the game one point above the Red Devils, knowing that a win could take them 16 points clear of the drop zone, with just 12 games to be played after.
