Dan Friedkin is looking to make big changes at Everton as Crystal Palace sporting director Dougie Freedman is being eyed.
The Friedkin Group (TFG) are looking at Angus Kinnear as a potential new chief executive officer after holding talks with Leeds United [The Athletic].
Kevin Thelwell’s current contract at Goodison Park is set to expire at the end of the season, and it remains to be seen what the future holds for him.
Dan Ashworth is another name the Friedkins have been linked with after his departure from Manchester United earlier this season.
Everton want new executive team as Dougie Freedman eyed
Freedman could potentially be part of a new “footballing executive team” at the Merseyside outfit, according to Everton News.
The news outlet reports (20 February) that the Toffees are keen on getting the Palace chief in their revamped backroom setup, which will include a CEO and a new sporting director.
Freedman joined the Eagles in 2017 and has since overseen the transfers at Selhurst Park, including the likes of Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise.
Like the Blues, Palace haven’t made much progress in recent years, and TFG could seemingly tempt the Scotsman to join a new project in Merseyside.

TFG planning for revolution at Bramley Moore Dock
A revolution at Bramley Moore Dock could happen under TFG after the recent moves they have tried to pull by pursuing some big names for their backroom staff.
The first order of business at Goodison Park for the Friedkins saw them clearing most of the pending charges against the Blues.
As a result, the Merseyside outfit are evidently in a much better financial position going forward, which will help them make quality signings next summer.
While David Moyes might be aggrieved that the Toffees only signed Carlos Alcaraz in the winter transfer window, it looks like spending more money wasn’t necessary.
The Scottish manager has his team 14th in the Premier League after an impressive unbeaten run, opening up a 13-point gap with the relegation zone.
Premier League table | Points |
14. Everton | 30 |
18. Ipswich Town | 17 |
19. Leicester City | 17 |
20. Southampton | 9 |
TFG will now be expected to make funds available in the coming months to bolster the Toffees.
As a result, astute minds like Freedman could be pivotal in getting the recruitment right.
