Sir Alex Ferguson ‘disappointed’ as image revealed from Everton v Man United

Everton and Manchester United played out an exciting 2-2 draw at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.

David Moyes‘ side started the game strongly and were without doubt the better of the two sides and arguably their three points.

Sir Alex Ferguson, the former Manchester United manager, was in attendance, as he watched the Red Devils put in an abject performance under Ruben Amorim despite a late fight-back.

Everton successfully spoil Sir Alex Ferguson’s trip to Merseyside

Ferguson often attends home games at Old Trafford, but seldom makes the trip for away games.

Usually, if they’re derbies or high-stakes encounters, he makes an exception, but otherwise, he is not spotted in the director’s box.

However, this time, he was indeed there and Fabrizio Romano shared an image of him on his X account with him looking disappointed.

Romano wrote: “Sir Alex Ferguson, disappointed in attendance at Goodison Park as Man United are losing 2-0 against Everton.”

Goodison Park once again provides an exciting goal-scoring affair

It was yet another memorable day out for the fans at Goodison Park.

They looked at it right from the start and Moyes appeared to have methodically studied Amorim’s plans for the afternoon.

He knew just how United would look to build out from the back and employed a high press from early on, making things difficult for them.

Harry Maguire had a poor game for the visitors and Beto’s constant movement in and around the penalty area made things difficult for the England international.

Beto deservedly grabbed a goal and took his tally to five goals in four games – which is remarkable – given his slow start to life with the Toffees.

Abdoulaye Doucoure also started the game strongly and was a menace for the United players to deal with.

He scored a well-deserved goal in the first half and the hosts highly deserved their two-goal lead at half-time.

Bruno Fernandes scored a free kick in the second half to give the visitors some chance to seal a late equaliser and Manuel Ugarte scored a well-struck left-footed effort.
