Brentford v Everton preview: Team news, head-to-head, line-ups, prediction

Everton will look to continue their unbeaten run in the Premier League as they face Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.

The Toffees will travel to West London on Wednesday (26 February) as surviving relegation has looked more likely in recent weeks.

David Moyes’ arrival at Goodison Park has turned the atmosphere around after a rather negative mood under Sean Dyche.

The Blues proved their credentials against Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United in the 2-2 draw at home on Saturday (22 February).

Brentford v Everton preview

While the Merseyside outfit got a rather positive result against the Red Devils, the Scottish manager will be disappointed to lose points after taking a two-goal lead.

Beto and Abdoulaye Doucoure scored for the Toffees in the first half before Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte found the back of the net for the visitors after the break.

Everton are unbeaten in their last six Premier League matches

The Blues’ record over the last six games has been commendable, and the Goodison faithful will want to see their team continue their resurgence against Brentford.

Thomas Frank’s team are coming off a resounding 4-0 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium and will evidently pose a threat to Everton.

Brentford v Everton team news

Moyes will have some selection headaches for the trip to the Gtech Community Stadium as Iliman Ndiaye is still on the sidelines.

The Scotsman could also potentially be without Jesper Lindstrom, who seemed to have picked up a knock during the Man United draw.

Ashley Young came on against Ruben Amorim’s team and was possibly unlucky that the referee overturned a penalty decision he won late in the game.

The defender could replace Lindstrom, with the rest of the team the same, as Armando Broja, Dwight McNeill and Seamus Coleman are still on the sidelines.

Everton record against Brentford

While the Toffees haven’t been at their best over the years, they have still managed to get the better of the Bees on most occasions.

In the reverse fixture, the Blues managed a 0-0 draw at Goodison Park on 23 November in the Premier League.

Prior to that, the Merseysiders had won three on the bounce against the West London club in the English top flight.

Prediction: Brentford 1-3 Everton

Brentford have enjoyed a relatively fruitful season as they sit 11th in the Premier League table, but their recent record proves Moyes can get the better of them.

The Bees have lost to Liverpool and Tottenham in the English top flight in their last five matches, leaving the door open for the Toffees to do a similar thing.

With the Blues beating Spurs and getting a draw in the Merseyside derby, the Goodison faithful will be hopeful their team can get a 3-1 victory at the Gtech.
