Brighton fighting as new twist emerges in David Weir-Everton saga
Everton are keen on hiring a new sporting director with The Friedkin Group assessing their options.
Brighton technical director David Weir has been linked with a return to Merseyside.
Kevin Thelwell is expected to part ways with the club once his contract runs out in the summer.
Weir has associations with the Blues and would undoubtedly feel the emotional connect should he return to Merseyside.

Toffees shortlist Brighton chief David Weir
TBR Football reported on 1 March that the Toffees have shortlisted Weir as one of their ideal candidates.
It’s understood that the Seagulls are fighting hard to retain his services.
However, they remain confident that they will succeed in their efforts to do so.
It remains to be seen just how keen Weir is on the job in the first place and whether or not he likes the project under the Friedkins.

David Moyes needs to be back with the right structure
David Moyes has returned to Everton and it’s proven to be an exceptional decision made by the new owners.
He has had a new manager bounce at Goodison Park and the fans and players have responded well to his arrival
Everton in the Premier League 2024/25 | Played | Won | Drawn | Lost |
Before Moyes’ arrival | 19 | 3 | 8 | 8 |
After Moyes’ arrival | 8 | 4 | 3 | 1 |
The stats above clearly prove that Moyes deserves to be backed in the summer as he’s done so much better so quickly as compared to Sean Dyche with a similar crop of players.
This is is an indicator that the players have been responsive to his methods and he’s managed to get the dressing room united again with everyone fighting for the manager.
Unfortunately, under Dyche, this did not happen and there was no real cohesion or game plan either.
