David Moyes ‘to hold talks with TFG’ as Everton chief set for Goodison exit
Everton will say goodbye to a senior member of staff at the end of the season with talks expected to be held between David Moyes and The Friedkin Group.
Moyes has turned things around in a short time at Goodison Park.
Therefore, supporters will be feeling much more optimistic ahead of next season, especially with The Friedkin Group making big moves off the pitch.
Angus Kinnear looks set to join the Toffees from Leeds, and this isn’t the only major change which is expected in the Everton boardroom ahead of next season.

Kevin Thelwell set to leave Everton at the end of the season
As reported by Paul Joyce via X (28 February), Kevin Thelwell is set to leave Everton at the end of the season.
Dan Ashworth has emerged as a “genuine” candidate to replace Thelwell [Everton News]. However, The Friedkin Group are also considering restructuring the Toffees’ recruitment model, rather than hiring a like-for-like replacement.
Therefore, ex-Goodison scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – expects that Moyes will be involved in any restructuring talks.
“I hope The Friedkin Group are planning to talk with Moyes,” King said.
“If they’ve brought in a manager with Moyes’ experience, and they don’t use that experience, that would be crazy. Therefore, I would imagine that whatever The Friedkin Group want to do, and however they want to restructure, they will hold talks with Moyes about those plans.
Everton in the Premier League 2024/25 | Played | Won | Drawn | Lost |
Before Moyes’ arrival | 19 | 3 | 8 | 8 |
After Moyes’ arrival | 8 | 4 | 3 | 1 |
“If Everton are going to make major changes, they’ve got to get things right, and they need to speak to Moyes to ensure they get things right. The Friedkin Group’s experience of the Premier League is very limited, whereas Moyes’ experience is immense. As a result, I imagine the plans will be presented to Moyes, without a doubt.”
Moyes deserves to make major decisions at Everton
Moyes has made a big impact since returning to the club and has fans believing again.
Therefore, the Scottish tactician deserves a big say in any decisions which the club makes, particularly when it comes to recruitment.
As a result, The Friedkin Group are likely to work closely alongside Moyes to make these decisions.
