Carlos Alcaraz shares what ‘great’ Everton teammate has done after Goodison transfer
Carlos Alcaraz has detailed how one new teammate in particular has helped him in transition following his move to Everton in February.
Everton signed Alcaraz on loan from Flamengo on transfer deadline day, adding some much-needed midfield reinforcements. Owing to Everton still treading the line with PSR, the Toffees could only secure a loan move but they have an option to make the deal permanent if certain conditions are met.
The Argentine has caught the eye of many following his arrival. Alcaraz is no stranger to English football, plying his trade for Southampton before moving on loan to Juventus and later signing for Flamengo on a permanent deal in the summer of 2024.
In less than six months of his departure to Brazil, the 22-year-old returned to England, signing with the Merseysiders.
Alcaraz settling well at Everton
Since joining, the former Southampton man has played six games for the Toffees, netting one goal and assisting one in the process. His noteworthy performance was in Everton’s 2-1 away win over Crystal Palace, where he came in for the suspended Abdoulaye Doucoure and scored the winner in the 80th minute.
In the same game, Alcaraz had also set up Beto for the opening goal, completing an all-round performance from the Argentine.

The 22-year-old arrived from Brazil and is still getting used to the surroundings in England. Teammate Jack Harrison has played a crucial role in helping Alcaraz’s transition. Harrison speaks high-quality Spanish, which has aided Alcaraz in better communication as the duo have gelled well in the past month.
Speaking to Everton’s official website, Alcaraz confirmed that Harrison has helped him and made life easier for him following his move.
He said: “Jack has helped me because he speaks Spanish very well, he tells me that he wants to practise with me.
“Really, he is a great lad, he is a great player so, to be honest I am very grateful to him more than anything else for helping me in this, which is the beginning of my time at Everton.”
Alcaraz making moves for permanent stay
Alcaraz’s loan deal has certain conditions, that if met, the deal would become permanent. If the former Juventus man starts a certain number of games, Everton will have an obligation to buy the midfielder.
So far, David Moyes has enjoyed deploying Alcaraz in the central midfield as well as the attacking midfield role. In a short span of time, the 22-year-old has showcased his abilities to contribute in the attack and be an important part of the midfield.
The recent injury struggles in midfield has seen Tim Iroegbunam and James Garner spend a considerable amount of time on the sidelines and having a reliable backup like Alcaraz – who earn a permanent Everton stay – is a huge benefit.
Should the Argentine continue to excel, there is no doubt of his deal getting converted to a permanent transfer, something that the player himself is hoping.
