What Everton need to do to sign Carlos Alcaraz permanently

Alcaraz joined on loan with a conditional option clause, which becomes mandatory if he makes a certain number of first-team appearances.

Romano has now confirmed that if Alcaraz plays in five more Everton games, this option will be triggered and the move will be made permanent for around £15m.

“Everton’s obligation to buy clause for Charly Alcaraz will only be activated as soon as he plays 5 more games. The transfer fee will be €18m,” he posted on X.

This is a major boost for Everton, who now have it within their hands to keep Alcaraz amid interest from other clubs.

Everton should aim to complete Carlos Alcaraz deal

With Abdoulaye Doucoure set to leave, Alcaraz can make the attacking midfield position at Everton his own, and he would be a terrific long-term signing for Everton.

The former Racing Club youngster has already showcased his attacking flair and eye for goal so far, and he brings a lot of creativity to a midfield which was previously lacking it.

At 22, Alcaraz has a lot of room to grow, and with consistent game time, he could see his own value substantially rise.

Everton could complete a deal for £15m for a player who could be worth a lot more than that in the future, and Alcaraz has the talent to light up the new Everton Stadium next season in an important year for the club.
