Everton travel to Anfield to face bitter rivals Liverpool in the final Merseyside derby of the season on Wednesday.

The upcoming game at Anfield may have slightly less on the line than the last encounter, with Liverpool comfortably top of the Premier League, while Everton are clear of the relegation zone.
Supercomputer predicts Liverpool to beat Everton
Everton and Liverpool both enjoyed an extended rest after the international break, with both teams bowing out of the FA Cup at earlier stages.
Liverpool are heading into this match on the back of a disastrous few results which saw them knocked out of the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain and beaten in the Carabao Cup final by Newcastle.
This may be the perfect time for Everton to play Liverpool, with David Moyes‘ side unbeaten in their last six matches, albeit with just one win in that stretch.
Opta’s supercomputer has now predicted Liverpool to beat Everton, giving Arne Slot’s side a 66.3 per cent chance of victory, with an 18.9 per cent chance of a draw.
This means that Everton have been given just a 14.9 per cent chance of victory in these simulations, and the Toffees will hope to prove them wrong.
Everton’s record at Anfield
Everton, unfortunately, do not boast the strongest record at Anfield, with just one away league win against Liverpool this century.
That victory came in 2021, with Carlo Ancelotti’s side winning 2-0, albeit with no fans in attendance, but the Toffees have lost their last three meetings there by the same scoreline.
Everton’s last league victory at Anfield with fans came in 1999, with Kevin Campbell scoring the only goal in the sixth minute, and Moyes’ side would love nothing more than a repeat of the scoreline.
