Burnley ‘to accept Maxime Estève bid’ amid Everton transfer news

David Moyes wants to bring Burnley centre-back Maxime Estève to Everton.

Moyes will be keen to add to his squad as Everton prepare to move to Bramley-Moore Dock next season.

One area which could need strengthening is central defence, with Jarrad Branthwaite’s long-term future up in the air.

At least one centre-back is expected to leave Everton. Therefore, additions could be needed, and it appears as though Moyes has already identified Estève as a suitable signing, with the Toffees now offered some encouragement that a deal could be agreed.

Moyes personally scouts Estève at Everton

As reported by Alan Nixon (30 March), Everton want to sign two central defenders, with The Friedkin Group keen to back Moyes.

The Toffees are admirers of Estève, with Moyes making a personal check on the Frenchman when he watched Burnley beat Bristol City 1-0 at Turf Moor in the Championship on Saturday (29 March).

And ex-Goodison scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes the Clarets might have no choice but to sell the centre-back if a suitable offer should arrive.

“I’d imagine Burnley will want a decent fee for Estève,” King said.

“He has been instrumental in the club’s success in the Championship this season. They won’t want to lose their best players. However, everyone comes at a price.

“If the fee offered is suitable, then what else can Burnley do but let the player move on? I think a decent bid would be accepted.”

Estève would be a smart signing for Everton

Everton are set to embark on a new era as they make the move to Bramley-Moore Dock.

Therefore, supporters will be expecting a busy summer in terms of incomings and outgoings at Finch Farm. However, the Toffees still need to be sensible with their spending.

As a result, bringing in Estève could be a smart bit of business, especially if a centre-back is to move on from Everton in the summer.
