Everton have published their accounts for the 2023/24 season, showing that the Toffees made a loss of £53.2m in the financial period.

The Goodison Park faithful will not be surprised by the Blues’ losses after the financial mismanagement overseen by former owner Farhad Moshiri.

Last term, Everton were deducted eight points by the Premier League and endured a relegation battle for large chunks of the season.

Everton points deduction question emerges

After the latest accounts, The Esk outlined what it means for the Blues, admitting it highlighted the “desperate” position the Merseyside club were in at that time.

Asked by a fan if more points deductions are on the table, Paul Quinn replied: “We are safe mate, not by a huge amount but safe.”

That news will relieve Everton fans who witnessed the Toffees go through some of the most turbulent times in their history just last term.

David Moyes is already one of the most popular figures in Everton’s history, largely because in his first tenure, he twice helped the men from Goodison Park finish above Liverpool in the Premier League.

The Reds sit 12 points clear of Arsenal in the Premier League title race and are set to lift their first top-flight trophy since 2020.

But Everton fans would be delighted to see Moyes steer their side to victory over Arne Slot’s men and claim local bragging rights once more.
