Jarrad Branthwaite is going to be a wanted man at Everton this summer, and the Toffees may have already started to prepare for life without him.

Everton have very little left to play for in the Premier League, with next to no fears of relegation and nothing to challenge for higher up the table.

With that in mind, some attention will have already turned to the summer transfer window, where Everton will have a lot of work to do on the recruitment front.

However, decisions on the future of several first team players will also have to be considered, and as per the latest transfer news, one may have already been made.

Branthwaite’s potential replacement lined up at Everton

Everton will have a major task on their hands to retain the services of Branthwaite, though there may be a time when they have no choice but to accept defeat and part ways.

While his departure would be a sore one in terms of the impact he has on the pitch, it could provide significant funds for Everton to further upgrade other areas of the team, and as per the latest report from Foot Mercato, they have already found an alternative.

David Hancko is said to be a target for the Toffees, with Everton having already made an approach to sign the Feyenoord defender ahead of the summer.

As it stands, it is believed that the fee Feyenoord are holding out for is deemed too high, though that may come down as the summer window edges closer, and he would be a shrewd addition.

David Moyes needs to be backed this summer

David Moyes has already had a telling impact at Everton, though the progress achievable will be severely restricted if the Toffees don’t recruit well this summer.

Several areas of the squad need improving, while a handful of players will inevitably be allowed to depart the Toffees.

If quality signings can be made, the Toffees could be in for a much better campaign under Moyes as they start their journey at Bramley-Moore.
