Calvert-Lewin transfer: TFG ‘have get-out-of-jail-free card’ after Everton update
Dominic Calvert-Lewin could soon leave Everton on a free transfer, and The Friedkin Group (TFG) have an excuse in case of his exit.
The Englishman has spent almost a decade at the Toffees, but he could be on his way out for pastures new next summer.
Calvert-Lewin’s contract at Goodison Park expires at the end of the season, and while the Friedkins may want to hand him a new deal, his possible departure could be out of their hands.
TFG will have a massive summer at Bramley-Moore Dock soon, but before that, they need to decide on players whose deals are ending.

David Moyes will want several transfers next summer
David Moyes will arguably want Calvert-Lewin to stay for next season, considering the lack of attacking options at his disposal.
While several defenders and midfielders could potentially leave as free agents in the coming months, the number nine position seems to be the priority.
Player | Appearances (2024/25) | Goals |
Calvert-Lewin | 22 | 3 |
Armando Broja | 10 | 0 |
Beto | 28 | 10 |
Youssef Chermiti | 2 | 0 |
Armando Broja will return to Chelsea once his season-long loan at Goodison Park concludes.
While Beto has seen an upturn in form and prospects in recent matches, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him return to Italy in the upcoming transfer window.

Tottenham interest in Calvert-Lewin transfer gives TFG perfect excuse
Moyes’ attacking woes are worsened by Youssef Chermiti’s apparent inability to remain fit this season.
While Calvert-Lewin has had his own injury issues in the current campaign, he’s still arguably the best option the Toffees have got up front.
Some supporters will undoubtedly expect TFG to tie the 28-year-old down to a new contract, and their inability to do so will raise questions about their ambitions.
Everton may be unable to do much to convince Calvert-Lewin to stay, with Tottenham interested in the England international, according to Fichajes.
The news outlet reports (5 April) that Spurs are looking to entice the centre-forward with an ambitious project and a prominent role in the starting lineup.
While Tottenham haven’t been at their best this season, it would evidently be a step up for the 28-year-old striker to join them.
The Friedkins might already be thinking about letting Calvert-Lewin leave for free, and Spurs’ interest gives them a get-out-of-jail-free card.
It would be hard to blame the American owners if the Englishman does decide to move to North London, but TFG will evidently need to replace him.
