Jordan Pickford transfer: ‘Interesting’ claim emerges at Everton
Everton may need to be wary of potential interest in Jordan Pickford in the upcoming transfer window after his heroics at Goodison Park over the years.
The shot-stopper has been one of the best players for the Toffees over the years, with his saves proving pivotal in recent relegation battles.
David Moyes’ team drew against Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday (5 April), with the English goalkeeper once again coming to the rescue.
The Goodison faithful won’t want Pickford to leave, but an interesting claim has been made regarding Chelsea ahead of next summer.

Chelsea prospect really interesting as Chris Sutton makes Pickford claim at Everton
Chris Sutton has hailed Pickford for his displays with England over the years.
The former English striker believes prospects at Chelsea look “really interesting” when asked why teams aren’t knocking at the Merseyside outfit’s doors every summer to sign the shot-stopper.
Competition | Appearances | Clean sheets | Goals conceded |
Premier League | 31 | 9 | 38 |
Sutton also feels there could be a debate about whether the 31-year-old England international is better than Manchester City’s Ederson.
Speaking on It’s All Kicking Off (7 April), the ex-forward said: “I think he’s been an outstanding goalkeeper for England. I don’t think he’s ever let them down.
“I think the Chelsea thing is really interesting. You could have a debate he’s better than Ederson.”
Moyes will want Pickford to stay at Bramley-Moore Dock
Moyes’ arrival at Goodison Park has changed the atmosphere around the Toffees in a short span of time.
Sean Dyche had the Blues playing some of the worst football fans have seen over the years as they were languishing around the relegation zone.
The Premier League table looks much better for the Merseyside outfit’s supporters since the Scottish manager returned to the helm, with their team 15 points ahead of 18th-place Ipswich Town.
Pickford has been instrumental for Everton over the years, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see Moyes rejecting any potential bids for the goalkeeper next summer.
Joao Virginia and Asmir Begovic have been the backup shot-stoppers for the Toffees this season, but neither of them have played a single minute in the Premier League.
Virginia played in the Carabao and FA Cup, but the Blues were unfortunately knocked out early from both competitions.
With English top flight survival all but confirmed, The Friedkin Group (TFG) will undoubtedly already be planning for the upcoming campaign.
The Merseysiders will move to Bramley-Moore Dock for the start of next season, and the Friedkins will arguably want to keep their best players.
