Everton news round-up: Merlin Rohl dream, Liam Delap transfer boost emerges

David Moyes has built a strong foundation at Everton ahead of the upcoming transfer window, with Goodison Park receiving some good news.

The Scottish manager must’ve been disappointed after losing the Merseyside derby at Anfield, but the Toffees bounced back with a 1-1 draw against Arsenal in the Premier League.

With the Blues 15 points ahead of Ipswich Town with seven games left in the English top flight, The Friedkin Group (TFG) can arguably get to work for what’s to come at Bramley-Moore Dock.

The American owners will have a lot on their plate, with the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Abdoulaye Doucoure’s contract expiring at Goodison Park.

Calvert-lewin Grade 3 hamstring injury expected at Goodison Park

Calvert-Lewin seems to have suffered a Grade 3 hamstring injury at Goodison Park, Dr Rajpal Brar says.

The injury expert feels that going by Moyes’ comments, the English centre-forward rehab has been slower than expected.

Dr Brar is unsure when the 28-year-old might return to action having been out since 25 January and could potentially be out for a few more weeks.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, the injury expert said: “This sounds like a Grade 3 hamstring injury, but based on the comments from Moyes, it sounds like his rehab has been slower than anticipated.

“Difficult to say where he is in the rehab except that he isn’t where the club expected him to be. Subsequently, hard to tell when he might be close to 100 per cent but will require a consistent run of matches. He still appears to be ruled out for a few more weeks.”
