Gary Neville calls Jamie Carragher for Nottingham Forest v Everton prediction
Everton travel to face Nottingham Forest this weekend, in a tough trip as the end of the Premier League season draws nearer.
David Moyes’ side has successfully navigated away from the relegation zone and now sit in 15th place, 15 points clear of Ipswich Town in 18th.
This means that there is little to play for but pride for the rest of the season, but Everton are on a solid run of form and will want to keep that going in the Premier League.
It is a different story for Nottingham Forest, who are chasing a Champions League spot, and former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has now backed them to win.

Carragher backs Forest to beat Everton
Speaking on the Stick to Football Podcast, former Manchester United defender Gary Neville was asked to predict the result between Forest and Everton, and unable to decide, he called Carragher on the phone.
Team | Played | Wins | Draws | Losses | Goals | Conceded | Points | Position |
Everton | 31 | 7 | 14 | 10 | 33 | 38 | 35 | 15th |
Carragher then claimed that Forest will beat Everton 1-0 at the City Ground, but Roy Keane hinted that Everton could snatch a goal from a set piece.
The two sides last met in December, with The Toffees falling to a 2-0 defeat at Goodison Park, but Forest certainly have more to play for now.
Forest have set an example for Everton to follow
This is Forest’s third campaign back in the Premier League after a long absence, and they have been one of the stories of the season.
Under Nuno Espirito Santo, they have gone from battling relegation to competing at the top end of the table for a Champions League spot.

They are currently in third, and are well on course to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in decades.
Everton may look at Forest as an example to follow in terms of smart recruitment and faith in their manager leading them up the table, and as the Toffees move into Bramley-Moore Dock, they will hope to emulate their remarkably unexpected success this season.
With a busy summer window and Moyes in charge at the new stadium, Everton could be in a strong position to compete well next season, but it may take some time before they can match what Forest have achieved so far.
