Everton ‘have go-ahead for sensational Liverpool transfer’ after Salah announcement

Mohamed Salah signing a new contract at Liverpool could ultimately end up benefiting Everton.

The Egyptian winger has agreed to stay on Merseyside until at least 2027, putting an end to the constant speculation surrounding his future.

His decision to remain at Anfield could help the Blues to secure a transfer target in a sensational – albeit controversial – move.

Salah contract could help Everton land his Liverpool teammate

Everton have been linked with Ben Doak as David Moyes looks to add more firepower to his side ahead of the new season.

The 19-year-old has impressed on loan in the Championship at Middlesbrough, notching three goals and seven assists in 24 appearances but the Reds could be willing to sell after the Salah announcement.

The Scotland star is ready to ply his trade in the Premier League but is unlikely to get many chances to do so at Anfield, considering the form that the Egyptian has shown this season, which has seen him hit 44 goal contributions in the league.

Everton move would be good for Doak

With uncertainty surrounding the futures of Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom at Goodison Park, a move for Doak could be ideal for both parties.

It is not very often that a player makes the move between Liverpool and Everton given the rivalry between the sides – the last to do so was Abel Xavier in 2022 – which was over 20 years ago.

However, the Toffees need a right-winger and the Scottish international will be looking for regular first-team football in the top flight, and he could make that position his own with the Blues.

Moyes will have a more difficult job convincing the Reds to allow him to make the move across Stanley Park, though, as they would not want him to become a star player for their arch-rivals.

However, money talks, so maybe a deal could be reached.

If the move was to happen, it would be a very exciting one for the Blues as Doak has all the raw attributes to become a top-quality player. Whether Everton’s neighbours would let it happen, though, remains to be seen.
