Dennis Cirkin transfer: Everton ready offer as Tottenham twist emerges

Everton have a massive transfer window coming up, and The Friedkin Group (TFG) have already started work on getting Dennis Cirkin from Sunderland.

Vitalii Mykolenko has been the first choice at Goodison Park this season, and he’s done relatively well to deserve a contract extension.

Nathan Patterson was deployed at left-back in the 1-1 draw against Arsenal at home in the Premier League due to the Ukraine international’s injury, highlighting the need for reinforcements.

David Moyes may be without Ashley Young at the start of next season as his contract expires soon, and Cirkin is someone who could potentially be a solution to the Toffees’ problems.

Everton want to beat Tottenham to Cirkin transfer

Sunderland left-back Cirkin is attracting interest from the Merseyside outfit and Tottenham, according to Graeme Bailey.

The TBR Football journalist revealed that the Blues are indeed one of the teams looking at the 23-year-old defender ahead of the upcoming transfer window, with Spurs also in the race.

Bailey claims that the Englishman is on the Toffee’s radar as they work on bolstering their defence next summer.

Speaking to Everton News (12 April), the journalist said: “They are one of the teams who are looking at Dennis Cirkin, the left-back at Sunderland. We know Crystal Palace and Tottenham like him.

“Obviously, Everton are looking at Sunderland with Anthony Patterson, Chris Rigg and Dan Neil. The Championship is a division which David Moyes knows very well. Cirkin is someone on their list, and they are doing work on the full-back position, I know that.”

Moyes to be backed by TFG in transfer window

TFG must back Moyes in the upcoming transfer window to show their ambitions for the Merseyside outfit, and fans will expect them to do so.

The Blues have done well since the Scottish manager replaced Sean Dyche at Goodison Park.

Moyes has all but ensured the Toffees’ Premier League status as they sit comfortably above 18th-place Ipswich Town in the table.

Everton will move to Bramley-Moore Dock at the start of the upcoming campaign, and the Friedkins have the opportunity to start a successful era.

The American owners need to learn from Farhad Moshiri’s errors and ensure sensible transfers are made at the Toffees next summer.

Cirkin has been successful at Sunderland this season as the Black Cats sit in a Championship play-offs spot.

If the Tyneside outfit fail to win promotion, the Blues could potentially have the upper hand in negotiations for the left-back.

It will be interesting to see how the saga unfolds and whether the Mersysiders will get the better of Tottenham.
