James Garner called out on Sky Sports after Everton stinker v Nottingham Forest – ‘Wow’

Everton did exceptionally well to beat Nottingham Forest 1-0 in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Toffees have proven themselves as a tough outfit to beat since David Moyes returned, and showed their solidity when they drew 1-1 with Arsenal on 5 April.

Moyes’ men displayed their defensive steel once again when they inflicted a shock defeat over Forest thanks to Abdoulaye Doucoure’s 94th minute winner.

Everton’s win at the City Ground was their first since a 2-1 victory at Crystal Palace on 15 February.

Kris Boyd blasts Garner footage in Everton win

Toffees midfielder James Garner was unable to make a massive impact against his former side.

Kris Boyd was left particularly unimpressed with Garner’s poor set-piece delivery, as he instantly reacted to the footage in the Sky Sports studio.

Speaking live on Sky Sports News [12 April, 16:32], Boyd said: “Everton have got a corner kick right now. Oh wow.

“Crossed it from one side of the pitch right out to the other, James Garner.”

However, the 24-year-old would not go on to regret his poor corner kick when Doucoure’s strike claimed all three points for the Blues.

Everton’s win over Forest was an important one

Moyes has already successfully steered Everton away from relegation trouble and into a strong position where they can look ahead to playing Premier League football at Bramley-Moore Dock.

Everton’s win over Forest is a great result for the Toffees

But the Goodison Park faithful had not tasted a victory since February, while the Toffees face two tricky fixtures up next as they host Manchester City next Saturday before travelling to Chelsea on 26 April.

Moyes’ men made a great account of themselves when they held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw, but their victory over Champions League hopefuls Forest is the biggest sign yet that the Merseyside club could be on their way to becoming a strong Premier League outfit once again.

After picking up four points from two games with Arsenal and Forest, who are both in the current top three, Everton should have plenty of belief that they can earn positive results against City and Chelsea.
