Nick Hammond update emerges at Everton as another Leeds figure identified

Angus Kinnear could reunite with two senior figures from Leeds United once he arrives at Everton next summer.

The Whites’ CEO will move to Bramley-Moore Dock as their chief executive in the coming months, and wants two more key senior figures at Elland Road to join him.

Nick Hammond has been linked with a move to Bramley-Moore Dock, and an update has emerged regarding his appointment.

With Kevin Thelwell set to leave Goodison Park at the end of the season, The Friedkin Group (TFG) are seemingly intending significant changes in the Toffees’ backroom staff.

Gary Penrice another Leeds United figure wanted at Everton

Gary Penrice is another Leeds figure wanted by the Merseyside outfit, according to the BBC.

The news outlet reports (22 April) that the 61-year-old, who holds a recruitment role at the West Yorkshire outfit, has been identified as a possible candidate for an appointment at the Blues.

It’s also been claimed that Hammond is one of the leading contenders to work under Kinnear once he moves to Bramley-Moore Dock.

As things stand, a deal for the 57-year-old who works as a transfer consultant at Elland Road hasn’t been finalised, but he may be tasked with overseeing player contracts as one of his key responsibilities if the Toffees appoint him.

David Moyes to be backed by TFG next summer

David Moyes and Kinnear are expected to collaborate in the upcoming transfer window to recruit new players for the Blues.

Hammond may not directly replace Thelwell at the Merseyside outfit, and it’s encouraging to see a complete shuffle after a torrid spell under Farhad Moshiri.

The new American owners at Goodison Park have shown encouraging signs early on, and their ambitions at the Toffees are becoming evident as some serious footballing people could potentially arrive next summer.

Everton have struggled to recruit adequately in the past, with Thelwell holding a rather mixed record with player recruitments.

While the likes of Iliman Ndiaye have succeeded at the Blues in the current campaign, their form has deteriorated over the years, as they’ve consistently fought relegation battles.

It’s good to see the Merseyside outfit thinking about bringing someone like Hammond in to focus on players’ contracts.

The Toffees are set to lose Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Idrissa Gueye, among others, as their deals at Goodison Park expire at the end of the season.

Whether the two Leeds figures will join Kinnear at the Toffees remains to be seen.
