Jack Grealish to Everton: David Ornstein shares hugely exciting update

Everton are set to move into their brand new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock this summer, and that could also lead to some big-name additions.

The Toffees are enjoying their final season at Goodison Park, and their improvement in recent months has steered them well clear of the relegation zone.

David Moyes returned to Everton to help revive the team, and they are now progressing up the table ahead of what could be an exciting season.

With several players set to leave, it has now been mooted that out-of-favour Manchester City star and three-time Premier League title winner Jack Grealish could be headed to Merseyside.

Ornstein ponders Grealish to Everton transfer

With Grealish likely to depart Man City this summer, journalist David Ornstein has now pondered the idea of Everton signing the England international.

“Everton are an interesting possibility in my mind,” Ornstein wrote for The Athletic (24 April).

“Especially as they need players, are heading into an amazing new stadium and that would keep him close to home in the north west.”

Grealish has struggled in recent years for Man City, but was once a British record transfer when he moved there from Aston Villa, and a move away could revitalise him.

Everton under Moyes could be a good environment for the 29-year-old, and he could add proven quality to a position in which the Toffees are lacking.

Grealish could thrive in two positions for Everton

Abdoulaye Doucoure is set to depart Everton as things stand, and this would open up a spot in attacking midfield for Grealish.

Although he has mostly played on the wings in recent season, Grealish has played as an advanced midfielder for club and country, and he could provide a level of creativity which Doucoure does not.

With Jack Harrison also likely to depart following his loan, Grealish would represent a major upgrade on either wing, and could form a big part of a new-look Everton side as they enter their new stadium.

It remains to be seen what kind of deal is possible, but Grealish would certainly be an unexpected big-name signing to usher in a new era at Everton if it happens.
