Everton ‘to offer Tariq Lamptey £25m deal’ after transfer update
Brighton star Tariq Lamptey could be playing his football with Everton next season.
David Moyes has steadied the ship since returning to Everton.
However, with a host of first-team players out of contract at the end of the season, major work needs to be done this summer. As a result, Moyes is expected to hold talks with the Friedkin Group.
And it appears as though Lamptey’s name could come up in those discussions.

Everton and Ajax want to sign Lamptey from Brighton
Of all the squad issues which Everton need to address this summer, a new right-back is perhaps the most pressing concern.
Centre-back Jake O’Brien has been playing in this position. However, after James Tarkowski’s recent season-ending injury, O’Brien moved to centre-back for the 1-0 Premier League defeat against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge (26 April), which forced Moyes to hand a rare start to Nathan Patterson at right-back.
This served as a reminder of the need to sign an upgrade in this position, and it looks as though Everton are already working to do that.

As reported by AfricaFoot (24 April), Everton and Ajax want to sign Lamptey.
The 24-year-old is out of contract at Brighton this summer. As a result, ex-Goodison scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – has suggested Lamptey could receive a lucrative offer from the Toffees.
“Lamptey is an interesting player who is still young,” King said.
“Therefore, I think this could be a very good deal for Everton. We’re talking about a £25million footballer here, and Everton could offer him a contract of that value.
“I’m sure Lamptey would be interested in such an offer. It will allow him to continue playing in the Premier League, which is important, and if he is going to play regularly at Everton, that is even more important.”

Lamptey would be a smart signing for Everton
With more than 100 appearances in the competition, Lamptey is an experienced Premier League player who still has time to develop.
As a result, if the Toffees can sign the Englishman on a free transfer, that would be a smart bit of business.
