Ndidi set for Leicester exit decision amid multi-million Everton transfer news

Everton are among the clubs interested in signing Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester City, as the Foxes drop back into the Championship.

The Nigerian midfielder has played over 300 times for Leicester but is now destined to leave the King Power Stadium, with multiple Premier League sides interested in acquiring his signature.

As reported earlier on Tuesday (29 April) by BBC Sport, Ndidi is now available for just £9million as part of a relegation clause in the 28-year-old’s contract – a bargain price in the current market.

Ndidi decision based on manager factor amid Everton interest

Having been a diamond in the rough while Leicester have competed in the Premier League and a player far too advanced for the Championship, Ndidi is unsurprisingly the subject of major interest from clubs on the up like Everton.

This is emphasised even further by the reported release clause which has now been given the green light, after Leicester were relegated with a whimper this season.

Ruud van Nistelrooy is currently uncertain on his future at the King Power following the confirmed drop, though he is largely expected to leave the Foxes this summer.

According to TBR Football (29 April), Ndidi is waiting to see who the manager at Leicester will be before he makes a decision, with Everton alongside Crystal Palace, Brentford and Fulham all keeping tabs.

Ndidi is a player who could certainly fill a void in David Moyes’ midfield, and is likely to be a popular signing with the Toffees supporters should it take place.

Moyes and TFG must punt for Ndidi despite Leicester season

Everton may have to revamp their entire central midfield this summer, due to the expiring contracts and transfer situations of several players.

Abdoulaye Doucoure and Idrissa Gueye, both considerably older than Ndidi, find themselves set to depart this June if no further terms are agreed.

James Garner has just 12 months left on his deal this summer and has been linked away, following a season held back by injuries.

Wilfred Ndidi
– 301 Leicester City appearances
– 18 Leicester City goals
– 64 full Nigeria caps
– FA Cup winner 2021
– Community Shield winner 2021
– Championship champion 2024
– 28 appearances in European competition
Ndidi has an impressive footballing CV

Ndidi is a player despite whom Leicester have been relegated with such a dismal points tally, rather than any real blame on his shoulders.

The relegation clause of just £9million in today’s climate makes the deal somewhat of a gimme, which has of course alerted several top-flight English clubs – and in turn others from around Europe.
