Everton transfers: Major development emerges in Evan Ferguson chase
Everton, along with Leeds United, have been linked with Brighton striker Evan Ferguson, who’s currently on loan at West Ham.
The Toffees are understood to be eyeing offensive reinforcements in the first summer window under The Friedkin Group.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin also appears set to leave, making it imperative for them to rope in a new striker.

Everton are watching Ferguson situation with interest
The Republic of Ireland international burst onto the scene with Brighton and appeared to be the next big thing.
However, things have not transpired quite as many thought they would.
Since his loan move to West Ham, he has failed to score in any of his seven appearances and has struggled to make an impact under Graham Potter.

Despite that, Everton are understood to be watching his situation with interest, according to TEAMtalk.
With Calvert-Lewin leaving, uncertainty surrounding Armando Broja’s future, a new striker is understood to be high up the priority list for the Merseyside outfit.
Beto himself has not been consistent after showing plenty of promise during his purple patch this season.

Ferguson may not address the Toffees’ problems
Everton’s interest in signing Ferguson stems from his earlier promise as a prolific striker, demonstrated by his 16 goals in 34 appearances for Brighton in the 2022-23 season, including 12 in the Premier League, at just 18 years old.
His physicality, pace and clinical finishing made him a perfect fit for the Toffees, who have struggled with injuries to strikers like Calvert-Lewin and Broja, needing a reliable goal-scorer to bolster their attack.
Ferguson’s familiarity with the Premier League and his potential to rediscover his form made him an attractive target, especially as a loan option to complement or replace Beto.
However, since a significant ankle injury in the 2023-24 season requiring surgery, Ferguson has not been the same player.
His confidence and goal-scoring instinct have waned.
Even under Graham Potter at West Ham, Ferguson has struggled, failing to start a game and managing only 92 minutes across five substitute appearances without a shot on target.
This lack of impact, despite Potter’s faith, highlights concerns about his current form and fitness.
