Everton given one condition to seal Gustavo Hamer transfer
Everton have emerged as contenders to sign Sheffield United midfielder Gustavo Hamer.
The Blades have had a disappointing season, missing out on automatic promotion to the Premier League but the Dutchman has been a shining light.
The 27-year-old was named as the Championship Player of the Season on 28 April after notching 16 goals and assists this campaign.
The Toffees could make a move for the former Coventry man as David Moyes looks to rebuild his squad in the summer transfer window.

Lee Hendrie moots Hamer move to Everton
The Yorkshire outfit will not want to lose Hamer but a move to the top-flight with the Goodison Park club may prove too tempting.
That is especially true if Chris Wilder’s side fail to secure promotion through the play-offs, according to former Aston Villa ace Lee Hendrie.
Speaking to Football League World (4 May), he said: “Everton have got bags of potential and what Moyes has done is quite phenomenal to steer them clear of that [relegation].
“I think they do need players that can give them that little bit more identity and quality and, if Sheffield United don’t go up, I would not be surprised in the slightest if he ended up going to Everton because it’s a club that has got itself stable and could end up turning a bit of a corner with the new stadium.
“I think it ticks all the boxes if they don’t go [up].”

Everton signing Hamer would be a solid move
The Brazil-born ace is far too good for the second-tier, he should be plying his trade at the elite level on a regular basis.
He proved that he can perform in the top-flight in the 2023-24 campaign, notching ten goal contributions although the Bramall Lane outfit were ultimately relegated.

Hamer would offer the Toffees a new dynamic in attack, as he is a deadly advanced midfielder that is capable of driving forward with the ball at his feet, scoring from all areas of the pitch and playing line-breaking passes.
He would bring a much-needed creativity that Moyes’ side have lacked in recent years, the deal makes perfect sense for the Blues and they should do everything that they can to secure his signature, especially with Abdoulaye Doucoure’s contract expiring in the summer.
Carlos Alcaraz has had a mixed start to life on Merseyside and Hamer could be the upgrade that the People’s Club need to move towards their ambitions of competing in Europe, rather than fighting relegation, which has been the theme of recent campaigns.
The Friedkin Group are set to back Moyes in the market and they could start with an excellent piece on business, if Wilder’s side do not win the playoffs.
