Georgios Vagiannidis set to join Everton as transfer progress emerges overseas
Everton are closing in on their first summer signing after a transfer update from Greece.
Everton are already working hard behind the scenes as they begin preparation for the new campaign, with hopes of continuing the progress made under David Moyes.
Since the Scotsman arrived, the Toffees have been on an upward trajectory, which could be continued with the right planning and recruitment this summer.
With that in mind, it seems that the Merseysiders are close to their first transfer breakthrough of the Bramley-Moore era.

Everton edge closer to right-back transfer
Georgios Vagiannidis was linked with a move to Everton recently, and according to a report from Sebastien Vidal via X (6 May), that proposed deal is getting closer.
The Toffees are said to be making progress on the deal and have seemingly stepped ahead of Brighton in the queue to sign the defender, who were also mentioned.
Premier League | W | D | L |

Vagiannidis has also been linked with a move to the likes of PSV, but his preference is understood to be playing in England, providing Everton with the advantage over other clubs around Europe.
Everton will undoubtedly be in for a busy summer window, and his signing is likely to be one of several as they look to bolster their squad for the new Premier League campaign.

Moyes needs to be backed on Merseyside
The Toffees have been miles away from competing at the top end of the Premier League table for years now, and that is unlikely to change unless their strategy on transfers does as well.
Recruitment will be crucial to any hopes of progressing, and while cheap gems from abroad will be welcome, Everton need to sign players who will be able to come in and have an immediate impact.
Only a handful of games remain for the Toffees this season, though plenty of their focus will already be on the decisions that will be needed over the next few months.
