Angus Kinnear ‘terminated’ as document emerges ahead of Everton deal

Angus Kinnear has faced termination ahead of his pre-agreed move to Everton.

It has been known for a while that Kinnear will swap Leeds United for Everton at the end of the season, as part of behind-the-scenes changes at both clubs.

The Toffees announced in March that the former Arsenal executive will assume a role as their chief executive officer starting 1 June.

While Kinnear is still a few weeks away from officially starting his work at Finch Farm, he is already involved in structural changes at the Merseyside-based club.

Kinnear terminated by Leeds as Companies House document emerges

It has now emerged that Kinnear has officially been terminated from his role as Leeds’ CEO.

The Whites finished their season with a 2-1 win against Plymouth in their final Championship game of the season on 3 May, and are already looking forward to next season.

As Kinnear is not a part of Leeds’ plans for next season, the Elland Road outfit have decided to relieve him of his duties already.

Leeds filed a document on Companies House confirming the same on Friday (9 May).

This means Kinnear has left Leeds three weeks before taking charge as Everton‘s CEO.

The former West Ham chief, therefore, can take some time off before linking up with Everton for a busy summer transfer window.

He appears to have already raised Leeds, with Whites transfer consultant Nick Hammond set to join Everton in a senior role.

Kinnear to work closely with David Moyes at Everton

Everton have undergone major structural changes in recent months, with Kevin Thelwell set to depart at the end of the season.

The Merseyside-based club do not plan to hire a direct replacement for the director of football, meaning Kinnear will work closely with David Moyes to make decisions regarding recruitment.
