Everton transfers: Jack Grealish claim made after agent talks

Everton can finally set their ambitions higher in the upcoming summer transfer window, thanks to the Friedkin Group.

It has been a tough few seasons for the Toffees but David Moyes has turned things around this season and TFG will be keen to back him in the summer.

Everton will still need to be cautious with their business, knowing the effects of PSR breaches all too well, but TFG are ready to up the investment on Merseyside.

One man who is being linked with a move to Everton ahead of the conclusion of the campaign is Jack Grealish.

Paul Gascoigne makes Grealish to Everton claim

Grealish is not having the season he would have hoped for at Manchester City and with his struggles, a move away could well be on the cards.

As a player who was previously a regular in the England international set up, reflective of his transfer fee, his drop off has certainly been noticeable.

Grealish needs to revive his career.

However, this could mean that Grealish himself would be open to a move to revitalise his career, especially given City will be keen to add to their side ahead of next season.

It would certainly be an ambitious signing from the Blues if they were to go for it, but a serious statement from TFG about the direction they want to take the club in.

Paul Gascoigne is not entirely convinced about the potential signing, though, and has suggested the struggles that the Toffees could face in striking a deal.

Speaking to Sporting Life (7 May), the former England international said: “Everton? That’s a weird move for him that.

“The club he’s at, I think Chelsea would be a good stop.”

“I think Katie [Gascoigne’s agent] still speaks to him. I mean Everton’s a good club, to be fair. It’s a big club. I think it’s just a case of all these teams wanting to match Manchester City, you’ve got to spend money.”

Grealish would be a great addition for Everton

TFG are prepared to push the boat out this summer, showing Moyes the support he needs to take the Toffees up the table next season.

The signing of Grealish would certainly be a big indicator of that happening, although you can understand Gascoigne’s doubts when it comes to the money that other sides may be able to offer City for the winger’s services.

That being said, if the 29-year-old has a say in his destination, Everton would likely be more attractive than Chelsea as he would be certain to get regular time rather than risking sitting on the bench in West London.

Grealish’s levels have certainly dropped, but it isn’t hard to see him working well with Moyes and providing just what the Toffees need.
