Alan Myers makes Michael Keane jibe as ‘delete’ message sent in Fulham v Everton

Alan Myers provided an instant reaction to Michael Keane scoring for Everton in their 3-1 win against Fulham.

Everton overturned a one-goal deficit to claim all three points against Marco Silva’s side in the Premier League at Craven Cottage on 10 May.

Raul Jimenez put Fulham in front just 17 minutes into the game, but goals from Vitalii Mykolenko, Keane and Beto saw the Toffees return from London with a win.

With that, the Goodison Park outfit put an end to their three-match winless run and moved to 13th place in the Premier League table.

Myers mocks Everton fans over Keane stance

The game against Fulham saw Keane make his first Premier League start since David Moyes returned to the Merseyside-based club in January, leading to many negative responses on social media.

Many Everton fans were not happy to see the 32-year-old named in the starting line-up to face the Cottagers in Jake O’Brien and James Tarkowski’s absence.

However, the centre-back proved his doubters wrong by putting the Toffees in front with a powerful header 70 minutes into the game.

The goal drew an instant reaction from Myers, who took to social media to express his delight for the former Burnley ace.

“Go on Keane”, Myers wrote on his personal X handle (10 May) with a blue heart emoji.

However, the goal was subject to a length VAR check, with the officials reviewing a possible foul by Carlos Alcaraz on Bernd Leno and an offside offence.

Myers was a relieved man when the goal was eventually confirmed, as he reacted to it with a laughing emoji on X minutes later.

With Beto quickly doubling Everton’s lead, Myers appeared to take aim at those who were upset at Moyes’ starting line-up that included Keane in it by posting a GIF of wrestling superstar Matt Hardy chanting ‘delete’.

Moyes turns attention to Goodison Park farewell

The win sets things up for a perfect farewell to Goodison Park next weekend.

Everton are scheduled to lock horns with Southampton in their final match at the celebrated stadium next Sunday, 18 May.

Moyes will be determined to give Everton fans an evening to remember ahead of the Toffees’ imminent move to their Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.
