Everton eye James McAtee coup after Manchester City transfer decision
Everton have set their sights on Manchester City’s James McAtee as the Toffees ramp up their preparations for the summer transfer window.
The Goodison Park side have largely performed well since David Moyes returned to the dugout, and were good value for their 3-1 triumph over Fulham on Saturday.
After successfully steering Everton well clear of the relegation zone, Moyes will now hope to trouble the top-half spots next season.
But to do that, the 62-year-old will have to oversee strong recruitment in the summer transfer window, while the Merseyside outfit also continuing to chase Liam Delap’s signature.

Man City open to McAtee sale amid Everton transfer interest
While Man City have let their usual standards drop this term, albeit they still sit fourth in the Premier League, McAtee has enjoyed a breakout season at the Etihad Stadium.

According to journalist Sebastien Vidal via X (12 May), Pep Guardiola’s men are open to selling the 22-year-old.
Vidal’s post reveals that Tottenham are making moves for the attacking midfielder, but face tough competition from Everton as well as Newcastle, Brighton, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest and Bayer Leverkusen.
Guardiola dubbed McAtee a “special” talent after he scored a hat-trick against Salford City in the FA Cup on 11 January.
McAtee could be a great acquisition for Everton
If the Toffees can beat the likes of Tottenham to McAtee’s signature, the England Under-21s international could prove to be a top addition as the Blues look to enjoy a strong start to life at Bramley-Moore Dock next term.
McAtee has notched seven goals in all competitions for Guardiola’s side this season, and most recently showcased his threat in the final third when he scored in a 5-2 win over Crystal Palace on 12 April.
Even though the Salford-born star has made just three Premier League starts this season, he has shown his class by scoring three goals in the top flight, making a further 12 appearances as a substitute.
With more game time under his belt, McAtee could prove himself as a more regular goal scorer, while Everton should be able to offer him plenty of minutes if they can acquire his services.
The Toffees are vying for a positive future after they say goodbye to Goodison Park, and McAtee’s services could prove to be just what Moyes needs.
