Everton sources issue update on new Calvert-Lewin replacement
Everton are reportedly preparing for life without Dominic Calvert-Lewin, with his deal running out this summer.
The England international has been at the Toffees since 2016 and has made over 200 appearances for them.
This past season, Calvert-Lewin made just 26 Premier league appearances, missing the majority of the second half of the season due to injury.

According to Everton.News (28 May), sources claim that the Toffees are looking to add another senior striker this summer.
That’s because there is still uncertainty over whether or not Calvert-Lewin will be staying on and sign a new deal.

Thus far, no decision has been made on his future, which has led to the Toffees looking at alternatives.
It’s understood that Newcastle striker Callum Wilson is an option being considered.
He also faces an uncertain future as his contract at St James’ Park is running out but he has an offer to sign a short-term deal from the Carabao Cup winners.
Everton should do far better than Wilson this summer
Wilson, at 33, offers little improvement over Beto, as both struggle with inconsistency and the Newcastle striker has sustained frequent injuries, falling short of the transformative striker Everton desperately need.
To push for a top-half finish, the Toffees must prioritise a marquee summer signing, ideally a prime-age striker who’s in his mid-20s, capable of consistently scoring at a high level across all competitions.
This player should possess the physicality, clinical finishing and reliability to lead David Moyes’ attack.
Securing such a high-profile forward would signal bold ambition from The Friedkin Group, demonstrating their willingness to back the manager with a statement signing.
Unlike Wilson, whose declining form and fitness limit his impact, a prolific, durable striker would galvanise the squad and fanbase, elevating Everton’s prospects and proving the new ownership’s commitment to success at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
