Everton door opens to sign Josh Brownhill amid £12m Burnley news
Everton have developed a knack for signing bargains in recent years.
The Toffees’ troubles with PSR have forced the Merseyside club to be smart with their money.
In recent seasons, Everton have signed players such as James Tarkowski and Ashley Young on free transfers who have gone on to be crucial first-team stars.
Now, David Moyes is aiming to repeat this feat as the Toffees eye Josh Brownhill.

Brownhill contract talks stall at Burnley as Everton look to pounce
Burnley earned an immediate return to the Premier League after they picked up 100 points on their way to promotion.
Brownhill was one of their major players throughout the campaign, as he captained the Clarets to this success.
However, according to Alan Nixon (1 June), he could depart Turf Moor this summer.

Brownhill is out of contract at the end of June, with Burnley looking to renew his deal before it expires.
Yet, Scott Parker’s side are unwilling to meet the 29-year-old’s demands, and he is currently set to become a free agent this summer.
As a result, Burnley are looking to sign Jordan James from Rennes for £12 million as a potential replacement.
Everton are interested in signing Brownhill, and the stalled contract negotiations have opened a door for a potential switch to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
However, Moyes faces competition for the midfielder’s signature, with West Ham also showing interest.

Brownhill would be a fantastic signing for Everton
It is clear that Everton need a midfielder this summer. Abdoulaye Doucoure is set to leave the Toffees this summer, and a replacement is a must.
Therefore, Everton could do a lot worse than Brownhill this summer. The 29-year-old is coming off the back of an excellent season where he netted 18 Championship goals.
On top of this, he already has Premier League experience, having played for Burnley since 2020.
On a free transfer, it is a no-brainer for Everton to bring in Brownhill as he would be an excellent squad option for the upcoming campaign.
