Everton ready to strike Liverpool blow as Nick Woltemade talks begin

Everton have already held talks over a potential swoop for Stuttgart star Nick Woltemade.

The Toffees are set for a busy summer full of ins and outs as they prepare to move into the Hill Dickinson Stadium ahead of the new campaign.

This could see a number of high-profile signings being utilised by David Moyes and Co., with the Germany international potentially in line to be the first.

If the Blues can land Woltemade in the coming weeks, they could land a blow to their rivals, Liverpool, as they kickstart their Premier League title defence.

Everton could beat Liverpool to Woltemade signing

Arne Slot’s side aren’t messing around this summer after already completing the signing of Jeremie Frimpong, with Florian Wirtz potentially in the pipeline.

The Dutch head coach could look to continue his Bundesliga shopping spree with the addition of the striker as the summer window moves forward.

This comes after the 23-year-old netted 17 and assisted three across all competitions in his debut campaign for Stuttgart.

Now, Caught Offside have reported (5 June) that the Evertonians have been in touch with the Bundesliga outfit to hold initial talks over the forward’s availability.

Liverpool are also said to be interested in the 23-year-old’s signature, with Moyes potentially set to land a blow to the Reds if he can push a deal over the line.

Woltemade could shine at Everton

There is no doubt that the Toffees are in need of a striker moving into the new Premier League campaign.

With Armando Broja leaving at the end of his loan spell and Dominic Calvert-Lewin destined to depart when his contract expires, new options will be required.

This could see Woltemade represent an excellent option in L4 as a versatile option to potentially lead the line or play alongside the likes of Beto.

Moyes would be able to offer the German large amounts of minutes, whereas a move to Liverpool could scupper any development at this stage of his career.
