Jamie Vardy update emerges at Everton after major Calvert-Lewin exit news

Jamie Vardy has haunted Everton many times over recent years in the Premier League.

The Leicester legend has scored seven times against the Toffees during his time at the King Power Stadium, but is now moving on to new pastures.

The Foxes confirmed that Vardy will be leaving once his contract expires, with transfer links already emerging to Everton and the Premier League.

With question marks around Dominic Calvert-Lewin, anything could happen.

Calvert-Lewin closes in on Everton exit

It has emerged that the England international is favouring a move to Italy, with his contract expiring on 30 June, with no signs of a new deal.

Everton have already been in the market for a new striker, too, missing out on Liam Delap, who has now sealed his move to Chelsea.

The Daily Mirror has reported in its print edition (11 June, pg 54) that a move for Delap proves that the Toffees want another striker, even if Calvert-Lewin stays.

Vardy will not be that signing, though, with the newspaper insisting there is no interest from Merseyside.

Everton clearout ready

Calvert-Lewin may not be the only striker leaving Everton this summer, with a complete rebuild in the final third already on the cards.

Armando Broja has returned to Chelsea as expected after his loan, but there are already question marks over the future of Beto, who is linked with Leeds.

Ahead of the move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, Everton and Moyes could have Youssef Chermiti as their only recognised senior striker, and that is a push in itself.

Vardy would have plugged a hole, but Everton need a new recognised number nine who can lead the line for many years at Bramley-Moore Dock.

The Leicester legend wouldn’t be that, and after years of financial restraints, Everton would be wasting money on someone who would frequently be used off the bench.

Thankfully, the Friedkins are already making smarter decisions than the Moshiri rein.
