Changes from The Friedkin Group have impacted Everton Women with a new CEO expected to be appointed.
The new ownership direction is looking positive for the women’s team, with Friedkin acting on vows to strengthen the women’s side.
This could involve a move active transfer window to bring new talent to the squad, as they prepare for the upcoming season, which will be played at Goodison Park.
Everton finished eighth in the WSL, after a difficult period that saw them close to the bottom.
One player that could join Brian Sorensen’s squad is Crystal Palace’s attacking midfielder Annabel Blanchard.

Crystal Palace shares update on ‘brilliant’ player’s future
Crystal Palace suffered a difficult first year in the WSL, finishing 12th and are now returning to the Championship for next season.
With this news, the Eagles shared a list of players leaving Selhurst Park, which included Blanchard, who has been a standout performer for the Eagles.
Blanchard was crucial in Crystal Palace’s fight for promotion and their first season in the WSL, and now will leave on a free transfer.
She joined the club in 2022 from Blackburn Rovers, having started her career within Liverpool youth teams.
Ian Wright has previously recognised Blanchard’s ability. On his WSL podcast ‘Crossways’ (15 October 2024), speaking on who he would like to feature in England friendlies, he said: “Can I go with Annabel Blanchard? I am so pleased for her because she was so good in the Championship.
“She’s come here and she’s been brilliant in all the games I’ve seen.”
The 24-year-old has not yet made a senior England call-up, despite representing her country at youth level.
Blanchard would be at home at Goodison Park
After ending her contract with Crystal Palace, Blanchard is likely to be considering a move to another WSL club, after her performances were standout this season.
She scored two goals in Crystal Palace’s first-ever WSL victory over Leicester City.

The midfielder began her career at Liverpool; however, on social media, she frequently shares her love for Everton FC as she often attends matches.
Blanchard could become a perfect target for Everton, as they will be looking to expand their squad ahead of the next season, with a free transfer also attractive.
Sorensen is reaching the last year of his contract and may be looking to finish on a high note.
A move to Goodison Park could be on the cards, one that may benefit both Blanchard and Everton as she looks to remain within the top level and Everton look to fight for a top-five finish next season.
