‘Everton can turn Jason Knight dream into reality’ as TFG bid lined up

Everton could now complete a deal to sign Jason Knight from Bristol City.

The Toffees have already shown an interest in the Republic of Ireland international who has been a regular since signing at Ashton Gate.

After catching the eye as the Robins made the play-offs, the 24-year-old could now be set for a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium this summer.

This could see David Moyes and Co. line up a bid for Knight with the transfer window just days underway on Merseyside.

Everton could be set for transfer Knight swoop

There is no shortage of quality in the Evertonians’ midfield right now, but new reinforcements certainly wouldn’t go amiss.

This is especially the case after the departure of Abdoulaye Doucoure, who could soon move to Saudi Arabia at the end of his contract.

As a result, a swoop for the former Derby County youngster could make perfect sense after his side missed out on promotion from the Championship.

Moyes has reportedly made strengthening the midfield a top priority, while showcasing a regular interest in Knight at Everton [TEAMtalk, 14 May].

This may have now taken a step forward after Sky Sports reported (17 June) about the Irishman’s dream of playing in the Premier League.

After missing out on that chance with Bristol City, a transfer offer from The Friedkin Group, in their first summer window, could prove to be the best way to fulfil that dream for the 24-year-old.

Knight could represent coup for Everton

The Championship is such a great breeding ground for talent, and the midfielder could prove to be the next one off the production line.

Big-name stars like Everton-linked Jack Grealish have had some of their best years in the second tier, and that looks to be the case for the Irishman.

This can only be better for Knight after making over 260 career appearances after making his debut as a teenager in a struggling Derby side under Wayne Rooney.

Now he could make a move to his former boss’ hometown club in the summer and link up with the likes of James Garner and Idrissa Gueye in the midfield at Goodison.
